| Nowadays, the 160 Ah cells that costed 175,00 euros without taxes, now cost more than 200 euros a piece 200x24x1.206 = more than 5790,00 euros with taxes for 24 cells ...
back to the topic, indeed you need to try to revive / recharge each individual cells back to 3.95v >> Quick test: if the single cell charger remains "green" when you plug the cell, it is most prob. dead (close to 0volt) and not "fully charged" as the color is supposed to tell.
Good luck! D8 |

| Hello again
So on the first BMS generation the charge is working as follow: 1) Charger output 80v, and charge all cells in serial 2) once maximum voltage is reach for each cells (or on 1 cell at 4.10v) the charge stops and 1 (of 3) box is used to discharge the one cell reaching the top limit 3) once the tension of the cell is down to a reasonable voltage, the charge is resumed for all cell, until a new cell is detect to be above the max voltage limit for 1 cell. if so, the system goes in loop on step 2 and 3 until all cells are around 4.10 volts 4) once all cells are balanced at 4.10, the charge stops
This works only with middle and top speed charging. The slow charging mode is to store the Zero in a garage and keep overall High-voltage battery at 80v - then it stops
If one of your BMS doesn't detect the over charge, this could imply a faulty BMS / error in the software and, as you fairly said, it could be hazardous to leave the Zero in charge unsupervised. (I wouldn't do that) With an 11 yrs old zero, sending the BMS for maintenance / check to Italy / Tazzari Imola seems a good idea if you wish your daughter to use the car on daily basis. As well, you may want to consider buying a single cell charger to control more what max tension you want to have per cell the single cell charger stops the charge at 3.95v peak
Now, with the Zero, a lot of members in this forum have been able to replace only 1 or 2 cells and get the Zero going for 2 yrs extra Not that changing all cells is not the way to go (I did it myself couple of years back) but it seems it is not mandatory Again, the weakest link is the weakest cell
Good luck! .. and welcome is the club of the Zero owners! D8

| Indeed, if it is a SPAL AS80, the FOBs get unpaired at some point in time and if both are unpaired, there is no possibility to pair them to the central again. I replaced mine with a new one found on Ebay in Canada
good luck! D8 |

| Hello everyone!
in a nutshell: Trip on the highway, Transmission leakage, and BMS kit
So, one morning, my little devil shown signs of distress... a leak under the car of a clear liquide ... the motoreductor is empty
So last Saturday, we towed the car back home
My Little devil was never that fast on a highway
Arriving ...
I ordered the 6 bearings, the kit of spacers/joints, and the overall joint of the transmission with Gimec (tx Giankymis for finding the supplier!) and will be opening it, renovating the whole transmission - that will go nicely with my refurbished motor
in the mean time, time to extract the BMS kit from the little Devil
after 45mns of battle ... I won
Now time to pack and send to Imola, the BMS will now go back to Italy after 9yrs away ...
to be continued...

| Hello Marcusfa.
Not enough power for Sun recharging. You need a portable 220v generator and small enough to be in your trunk
as for instance >> FZI 4020-Bi (2000w)
